Visit Lake Oconee

Nestled halfway between Atlanta and Augusta, Lake Oconee has gained recognition as the premier destination to break away from the city and enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle - whether full-time or part time. The lake area features wonderful shops, restaurants, recreation, and, of course, beautiful neighborhoods, homes, and homesites. Come out and visit us during the Showcase of Homes, you’ll be glad you did.

About Greene County Habitat for Humanity.

Each year, Greene County Habitat for Humanity and its volunteers build or rehab three to four homes in partnership with future homeowners. With support, resources and volunteers from the local community, we make safe, decent, and affordable housing available to low-income families. After being accepted into the Habitat program, each homeowner must adhere to a rigorous mentoring process and contribute a minimum of 250 hours of sweat equity before being able to purchase their home. Through monetary and in-kind donations as well as volunteer support, a total of 70 families have realized homeownership. This includes more than 200 individuals and children. Greene County Habitat for Humanity is the only builder of affordable homes in the Lake Country area. For more information, visit us at http://habitatgreene.net/.
