Augusta Magazine Features the Showcase of Homes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Augusta Magazine is the preeminent magazine covering everything happening throughout the Augusta region. Lake Oconee Showcase of Homes is proud to have a half page ad in the August/September 2021 publication. The Showcase of Homes was founded in 2018 with a mission to enable Greene County Habitat for Humanity to build even more affordable housing for Greene County, Georgia families. The Showcase is appreciative of the expanded coverage the event is receiving from neighboring cities, such as Augusta. If you have not already, please consider participating in one, many, or all of our great events throughout the week. Our website covers all of the great event activities and we welcome participation from all of our Augusta neighbors.
About the Showcase
An annual tradition, the Showcase of Homes has expanded in the past two years to a week long event featuring an amazing online auction (October 18 - 24), high-quality virtual episodes (October 22 - 24), and in-person home tours (October 23). This year’s event features three in-person homes and six total homes as part of the virtual episode series. It’s going to be another great year full of architecture, design inspiration, exciting special spaces, and the testimonials from our wonderful Habitat homeowners.
Visit Lake Oconee
Nestled halfway between Atlanta and Augusta, Lake Oconee has gained recognition as the premier destination to break away from the city and enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle - whether full-time or part time. The lake area features wonderful shops, restaurants, recreation, and, of course, beautiful neighborhoods, homes, and homesites. Come out and visit us during this great event, you’ll be glad you did.
About Greene County Habitat for Humanity. Each year, Greene County Habitat for Humanity and its volunteers build or rehab three to four homes in partnership with future homeowners. With support, resources and volunteers from the local community, we make safe, decent, and affordable housing available to low-income families. After being accepted into the Habitat program, each homeowner must adhere to a rigorous mentoring process and contribute a minimum of 300 hours of sweat equity before being able to purchase their home. Through monetary and in-kind donations as well as volunteer support, a total of 70 have realized homeownership. This includes more than 200 individuals and children. Greene County Habitat for Humanity is the only builder of affordable homes in the Lake Country area. For more information, visit us at http://habitatgreene.net/.
